Robbers Storm NYC Apartment With Guns and Machete, Dunk Victim's Head in Toilet While Ransacking Home: Victim, NYPD

Police are looking for the trio of armed robbers they say barged into a Bronx apartment last month using a fake package delivery worker as a decoy, then attacked and bound the resident inside as they ransacked the home.

The victim told NBC 4 New York a woman showed up to his apartment on Tiebout Avenue in Fordham Heights on Dec. 14 saying she had a package. When he opened the door, the three suspects, wielding two guns and a machete, forced their way in.

Once they were inside, authorities say they attacked the 28-year-old father, then bound him with zip ties. The victim's wife and 4-month-old child were not at home at the time.

"They said they was gonna kill me," the victim said. "They tied me up, they put the gun on me, and robbed -- and they had a big machete with them that they used to threaten me."

The victim said one of the men dunked his head into the toilet while his hands were tied up.

Police say the trio then sifted through the home. They took nearly $2,000 in cash, jewelry, three cellphones and a laptop, as well as credit cards and their PIN codes, then left.

The victim was taken to Montefiore Hospital afterward and was treated for his injuries.

He said he doesn't know his attackers.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
