2 Killed in Bronx Hit-and-Run

Police are looking for the driver who struck and killed two men in the Bronx early Monday and fled the scene, authorities said.

Authorities say someone called 911 to report two unconscious people underneath the bridge near Bruckner Boulevard and East 138th Street in Port Morris shortly before 4:30 a.m.

Investigators are looking into whether the men were trying to cross the street or walking alongside the road, which has no sidewalks.

People familiar with the area say it's dangerous for pedestrians. In addition to the lack of sidewalks, cars tend to speed around the tight corners, residents said.
