A burglar with an apparent broken foot managed to get into a Brooklyn home, then run away when the resident returned to the apartment, police said.

The man, who had a cast on his right foot, somehow got into the basement apartment in Fort Greene through an open window the morning of Friday, May 24, according to police.

The 24-year-old resident came home, startling the burglar, who quickly escaped through the window where he broke in, police said.

There were no reported injuries and the suspect left empty-handed.

Surveillance video shows the suspect with a cast on his right foot and walking with a cane.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or at nypdcrimestoppers.com.
