Mugger Bashes Man in Head With Brick as He Leaves Midtown Concert Hall With Girlfriend

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is in stable condition

Police are looking for the mugger who bashed a man in the head with a brick as he and his girlfriend left a concert hall in midtown Saturday.

The man and his girlfriend were walking on West 58th Street near 11th Avenue around 11 p.m. shortly after leaving Terminal 5 when the suspect sneaked up from behind and hit him in the head with the brick, according to the NYPD.

The mugger rifled through the man's pockets as he lay on the ground, but didn't take anything.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. 

According to the New York Daily News, he is an accountant with Thompson Reuters and a long-distance runner training for the New York City Marathon. He is originally from the United Kingdom, the paper reports.

Police released a surveillance photo of the suspect (above).
