An 11-year-old boy and another person were shot in the parking lot of a supermarket in New Jersey Tuesday night, police say.

The boy was wounded in the hand and another male victim was hit in the elbow outside the Pathmark supermarket on Lyons Avenue in Irvington at about 9 p.m., according to police.

Both victims were taken to Newark University Hospital and are expected to be OK.

Police don't believe the boy was the intended target. No arrests have been made, and investigation is ongoing.
