A 12-year-old boy shot his 14-year-old sister in the abdomen early Friday, and is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
The teen was taken to a hospital after the shooting at about 2:30 a.m. in their Queens home on 164th Street.
Her injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.
A source told NBC 4 New York that the boy initially claimed he found the gun, but later changed his story and said someone gave it to him.
