Bouncer Shot at West Orange Bar

The bouncer was apparently trying to break up a fight between patrons

A bouncer in West Orange was shot and killed early Monday, apparently while trying to break up a fight between patrons in the parking lot, police said.

The bouncer, whose name has not been released pending notification of his relatives, was shot and killed around 2 a.m. outside Misty's Restaurant and Bar, at 244 Main St., the Essex County prosecutor's office said.

Preliminary information indicated the bouncer was shot while trying to break up a fight, the office said.
