Both Tubes of Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel Open

Both tubes of the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel, formerly known as the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, are now open to traffic in both directions.
Trucks are still barred from the tunnel until further notice.
Both of the tunnel's tubes were flooded during Sandy. One of the tubes had reopened to buses on Nov. 12 and to cars on Nov. 13.
