Blustery Winds, Snow and Rain Mix to Hit NYC, Tri-State Next Week

With less than two weeks until the winter solstice, it's time to bring out the heavy coats and prepare for a wintry blast.

A storm system is set to hit the East Coast next week, bringing with it a mix of snow and rain showers. Highs are expected to be in the 30s, but will feel at least ten degrees colder when paired with biting winds.

The coldest air of the season will continue to settle in Friday and linger throughout the Tri-State area over the weekend. Sleet and snow could follow by Sunday night.

It's a stark change from the above-average temperatures New Yorkers have been fortunate enough to experience over the past few weeks. The unseasonably warm weather will end next Friday, when temperatures are expected to drop to the 20s and below during the evenings.
