Bloomberg Attending Boehner, DCCC Fundraisers

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who’s made clear he’s not running for president next year, is nonetheless wading into national politics — attending major fundraisers for both House Speaker John Boehner and the House Democrats’ campaign arm in the coming weeks, a source told POLITICO.

The mayor — with his personal wealth and platform as chief executive of the Big Apple making him a sought-after endorser — is set to attend a fundraiser for the top House Republican in New York next week, the source said.

The source would not provide details, but Boehner is known to be scheduled for a “Boehner for Speaker” event at the St. Regis Hotel in Midtown Manhattan on May 10, one that’s being hosted by Carl Icahn, John Paulson and hedge funder Paul Singer, among others.

But, mindful of bipartisanship, the registered independent mayor will also attend a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee event in New York City next month.
