Mayor Bloomberg has said more than a few words about the proposed Ground Zero mosque -- but his words on the John Gambling Show this morning were a little pointed.
Bloomberg has been an outspoken opponent of the anti-mosque movement that included an impassioned speech on Governors Island.
Yet, when Governor David Paterson suggested offering state-owned property far from the site of the former World Trade Center as a means of resolving the debate – Mayor Bloomberg fired back.
“He doesn't understand what that was about,” Bloomberg said, adding that Governor Paterson isn't an expert in site selection.
Earlier in the week the New York Times reported Mayor Bloomberg brushed aside the proposal, saying the governor was free to offer the land but could “speak for himself.”
