NJ Black Bear Hunt Has Claimed 369 Bruins

Hunters killed 592 black bears last year and believe the poor weather early in the hunt is to blame for lower numbers this time around.

Hunters have just two more days to try to bag a bear in New Jersey's six-day bear hunt.

They killed 43 bruins on Thursday, bringing the hunt's total to 369.

Hunters killed 17 bears on Wednesday and 52 on Tuesday. That compares to 257 during the first day of the hunt on Monday.

Hunters harvested 592 black bears in New Jersey in 2010.

They believe poor weather early in this year's hunt is to blame for the lower numbers.
