Bear Tranquilized After Climbing NJ Tree, Running Through Yards

It was the second bear spotted in Union Township this year

A young bear that was stranded in a New Jersey tree has been tranquilized and will be relocated to a non-urban environment, officials said.

The 185-pound male bear was spotted in the tree some time Tuesday morning and brought down a short time later.

Chopper 4 captured video of the bear hanging out on a branch, nearly hidden by leaves, as crews gathered on the ground below.

It was the second bear spotted in Union Township this year, officials said.
