Police are looking for a hulking bearded man suspected of performing lewd acts near young girls at the Palisades Center Mall in New York.
Clarkstown police say the suspect most recently approached a 10-year-old girl sitting on a Barnes & Noble bench Dec. 26 and performed a lewd act near her.
She was shopping with her mother at the time.
The 200-pound man is also suspected of a similar act near an 8-year-old girl at the Bed Bath & Beyond in the mall five days earlier.
Clarkstown police say on one of the occasions, he may have left the mall in a light green van with out-of-state plates.
Officials released a photo of the suspect and ask anyone with information to call the tips line at 877-639-6233.
Barnes & Noble said in a statement that it has taken steps to increase security at that store, and wants to "assure customers that our store is a safe place to bring children to shop."
