Baby Sitter Arrested in Staten Island Toddler's Death

An 18-year-old baby sitter has pleaded not guilty to assault and child endangerment in the death of a 2-year-old boy on Staten Island.

Cynthia Dubois was ordered held Friday on $100,000 bail. There was no immediate response to a message left with her lawyer.

Dubois was taking care of Josiah Taylor at his father's home Tuesday when she found the boy unconscious. Authorities say she shook him, then waited at least 30 minutes before calling for help. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The medical examiner's office ruled Josiah's death a homicide after an autopsy found he died from injuries that occurred over a period of time.

Investigators are seeking to question the boy's parents.
