Robber Attacked 3 Sleeping Women With Hammer During Break-in: NYPD

A 29-year-old man broke into a Queens apartment where three women were asleep and attacked them with a hammer before robbing them, police said.

Lawrence Parsons is accused of attempted murder, possession of stolen property and two counts of robbery after the break-in and attack Sunday at an apartment on 18th Street in Astoria, according to the NYPD.

Police say the women were sleeping when a suspect climbed through an unlocked window and began the attack. The suspect beat the women with the hammer and made off with a laptop, iPad and cell phone.

The three women, ages 58, 53 and 31, were all taken to the hospital. The 58-year-old was listed in critical condition Friday, with the other two in stable condition.

Parsons was arrested in Brooklyn on Tuesday. Police say he knew one of the victims, though it's not clear which one.

It’s not clear if he has an attorney.
