A woman is facing murder charges after police say her boyfriend was fatally stabbed in the head Sunday in Brooklyn.

Burnette Singleton, 34, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of 54-year-old Russell Holdip, who police say is Singleton's mother's boyfriend.

Holdip was stabbed at about 1:30 p.m. inside an apartment on Grant Avenue in East New York, police said. Holdip lived in the building.

He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

It was not immediately clear if Singleton had an attorney.
