Mayor Bloomberg says if the world ends on Saturday as some are predicting, the good news is that alternate side parking will be suspended.
"If the world ends tomorrow, I don't think you have to worry about returning library books, parking tickets," Bloomberg said Friday on his weekly radio show. "Alternate side parking will be suspended. Although I think alternate side parking will take on a whole different meaning actually."
Harold Camping, the 89-year-old founder of Family Radio, has been predicting that the world will end on May 21, 2011, for a variety of religious-based reasons.
Ads have been taken out, signs have gone up, and believers are warning others that there is one day left until Armageddon.
Bloomberg is skeptical.
"We've heard this before in New york, that it's the end of the world, and we showed it wasn't true," Bloomberg said.
