Three people were hurt when fire ripped through an apartment building in Brooklyn Tuesday morning, authorities say.

Fire officials say the blaze broke out shortly before 6:30 a.m. at the building on Ocean Avenue in Prospect Park South.

The fire, which damaged five apartments, was brought under control about an hour later. The victims' injuries were all considered minor.

The Red Cross said it was assisting two families with temporary housing and emergency funds for food and clothing.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
