A New Jersey woman says a professional boxer from Atlantic City repeatedly punched her in front of their children.
Tara Robinson, a 28-year-old mother of two from Millville, said she got into an argument with Antowyan Aikens, 26, on Aug. 2 at her home and that it became physical. She said he grabbed her from behind while she ran up the stairs holding their 2-year-old. She said he pulled her down the stairs, choked her, held her down on the floor and punched her several times in the face.
"He put a towel over my face," Robinson said. "It was just all this blood."
She said her 4-year-old son saw the assault and Aikens fled the house after telling her to tell police the assault was caused by another woman.
Robinson was airlifted to a trauma unit at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. The full-time nursing student said she required multiple stitches and that her face remains swollen.
Millville police Sgt. Ross Hoffman told The Press of Atlantic City that Aikens was charged with aggravated assault following his Aug. 3 arrest. He was released from jail on Aug. 19 on $250,000 bail.
The undefeated light-heavyweight told a reporter on Wednesday the incident was "not that serious" and said "it was a mistake of mine that was made."

Robinson said she's notified officials at the State Athletic Control Board, which regulates boxing and fighters in New Jersey, about the charges against Aikens.
Officials with the agency couldn't be reached for comment regarding possible action against Aikens.
He has a 10-0 record with one knockout.
