Giant Goldfish Invade Lake Tahoe

Biologists are worried that Lake Tahoe's clear, blue water may be affected by a "giant" visitor. Goldfish, including a 14.2 inch, 3.4 pounder, were recently found in the lake. Scientists say the goldfish likely got into the lake courtesy of aquarium dumpers.

Police are looking for three men and three women who allegedly attacked a straphanger after uttering anti-gay slurs while riding a No. 2 train headed downtown from the Upper West Side Monday.

Authorities say the 23-year-old victim and a friend boarded the train at the 125th Street and Lenox Avenue station at about 6 p.m. Once the train started moving, police say one of the female suspects began taking pictures of the victim and his friend.

When the victim asked the woman to stop, she allegedly began shouting anti-gay slurs at him. The ensuing argument escalated into an alleged physical assault on the victim by the woman who had started the altercation, along with two other women and three men.

The victim and his friend got off the train at 96th Street and Broadway and fled the station. The victim was treated at St. Luke's Hospital for a laceration over his left eye and released.

All of the suspects are described as being in their early 20s. Police released sketches of one of the female suspects and one of the male suspects.

Police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
