A Wintry Mix Could Mean a Messy Morning

Expect roads and sidewalks to be slippery north and west of the city

A wintry mix of light snow, sleet and freezing rain will make roads and sidewalks slippery north and west of the city overnight and during the Tuesday morning commute

A winter weather advisory is in effect for counties in northern New Jersey, the lower Hudson Valley, interior Connecticut, and the Catskills and Poconos from 9 p.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday. Accumulations should be light, generally less than an inch of snow and  less than a tenth of an inch of ice, but just enough to cause slippery travel in those areas

New York City and coastal areas will see rain on and off and temperatures in the 40s throughout the period. Drier conditions are expected by Tuesday evening’s commute, with sunshine returning on Wednesday.
