Nine New York City area cultural institutions are part of a program designed to get kids interested in science, math, engineering and technology.
Thousands of students will get to see and touch exhibits. In a related initiative, members of the public can help fund classroom projects through DonorsChoose.org.
Schools participating in the STEM Days Out program will be chosen by the institutions, which include:
- Wave Hill and the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx.
- The Brooklyn Children's Museum.
- Manhattan's American Museum of Natural History; National Museum of Math; and the Intrepid.
- The New York Hall of Science in Queens.
- The Staten Island Museum.
- And the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers.
The programs are made possible by grants from Con Edison.
