A 72-year-old woman was killed and another person was seriously hurt after a driver possibly ran a red light and hit the victims' vehicle, violently sending them into a flower shop in Queens, law enforcement sources say.

The driver of a Lexus SUV fled on foot after slamming the vehicle into the victims' Honda CRV near 126th Street and 111 Avenue just after 1 a.m. Tuesday, the sources said.

Police are searching for the man who left the scene.

The woman, identified as Gilda Lascano, was pronounced dead at scene, police said. Lascano was sitting in the passenger seat when she was killed. She lived just down the block from the crash scene.

Lascano's driver was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The driver was not immediately identified.

An investigation is ongoing and no other information was immediately available.
