Police said a pregnant woman was among three people injured when a car crashed into a 7-Eleven store on Long Island Thursday night.

A driver and two passengers were traveling westbound on the Long Island Expressway near Weeks Road in Brentwood at about 8:30 p.m. when the driver lost control, police said. The car hit the guard rail and landed in front of the 7-Eleven.

The pregnant woman was the most seriously hurt, and she was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital by helicopter. The man who was driving and a young girl inside the car were both taken to Southside Hospital.

It's not clear why the driver lost control.
