NYPD Civilian Employee Shot, Killed in Garage: Sources

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 66-year-old man in Brooklyn.

It happened just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday inside a building on Bay Street in the Bath Beach neighborhood.

Police say the man was found with a gunshot wound to his torso and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name has not yet been released.

Law enforcement sources say the victim was an NYPD civilian employee. It appears the suspect shot the victim in his garage during a home invasion, and stole his Mustang, sources say.

Police are looking for a suspect who fled in a blue 2015 Ford Mustang with a license plate number GEF8791.
