Newark, N.J. police say five people were wounded in three separate shootings that occurred over a two-hour span late Friday night.

No arrests have been made, and investigators don't believe the incidents were related. And none of the wounds were considered life-threatening.

The first shooting occurred around 10 p.m. in the city's West Ward. Officers went to the scene after the city's gunshot detection system picked up several shots, and they found two males had been shot in the buttocks.

Less than an hour later, two more people were found wounded after police responded to numerous reports of shots fired in the North Ward. And around midnight, another male was wounded in the left shoulder in the West Ward.

All five victims were being treated at University Hospital in Newark.
