5 Officers Injured After 2 Police Cars Collide in the Bronx: NYPD

Five officers were injured when two police cars collided Sunday night in the Bronx as they responded to a call for an officer who needed assistance, the NYPD said.

Three officers suffered neck and back injuries, one suffered a laceration to the head and one may have a broken arm following the crash on Bedford Park Boulevard and Briggs Avenue in Bedford Park at about 10:23 p.m., police said.

The FDNY said the injured officers were taken to Jacobi Hospital and at least four were in serious, but stable condition.

No further information was immediately available.
