A 4-year-old girl who accidentally shot herself in the face with a handgun in a Yonkers apartment has died, authorities said.
A spokeswoman for Jacobi Medical Center said Makayla Manners died on Friday, four days after she accidentally shot herself.
A semi-automatic handgun was found near the child after the shooting.
The police report says that so far, the investigation indicates the shooting was self-inflicted and accidental.
Police say they're still looking into how and where the girl found the weapon.
