3rd Teen Arrested in Connection With Video of Girls Being Forced to Fight

A third teenage girl has been arrested in connection with an online video of two young girls being forced to fight in a Bronx park in January, police said.

The 14-year-old girl was arrested Friday night after two other girls, 14 and 15, were also arrested earlier in the day. All three have been charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Officials said a fourth teen was also being questioned.

The video was originally posted on YouTube and then on the website Gothamist. It shows two children, who are 6 and 7, being urged to slap and hit one another, while older people in the background jeer and egg them on.

One of the girls starts crying and walks away, putting on her backpack.

"I'm not playing! I'm not playing!" she sobs.

The mother of the girl who is seen crying and walking away went to police after recognizing her daughter in a news report.

Investigators said the fight stemmed from a dispute between the little girls' older sisters.

Police said the teens arrested Friday were not the older sisters. Their role in the fight was not immediately explained.
