3 Long Island Women Robbed in Violent Home Invasion: Police

Three sleeping women were rousted from their beds and robbed early Sunday by a band of armed men, Nassau County police said.

The women, ages 17, 35 and 45, were asleep inside an Elmont residence when they were awakened at about 3 a.m. by four or five men armed with guns, a stun gun and a baseball bat, investigators said.

The two older women were struck in the head with handguns and the teenager was struck with the stun gun on her arm, police said. They were shoved into a bathroom, while the robbers ransacked the house, police said.

The 35-year-old woman was treated for her injuries at a local hospital and released. The two others declined medical attention.

The suspects, all said to be in their 20s, made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

One suspect has a Jamaican accent, police said. Another sports a goatee and Mohawk haircut. A third is described as stocky and wearing shiny earrings. Three of the suspects carried handguns, police said.

Investigators ask that anyone with information about the robbery call 1-800-244-TIPS.
