3-Car Accident Shuts Down Southern State Parkway

    Two of the cars involved in the three-car accident on Southern State Parkway in Long Island Sunday.

    State troopers are investigating a serious three-car accident that has shut down part of the Southern State Parkway in Massapequa, Long Island.

    The accident happened near exit 31, by the Bethpage State Parkway, just after 5:30 a.m., according to troopers.

    At least  two people were injured, one seriously, said troopers. They were taken to local hospitals.

    The eastbound lanes on the Southern State Parkway remain closed as of 12:30 p.m. Access to the Southern State's eastbound lanes from the Bethpage State Parkway was also closed.
