3 Arrested in Connection With Death of Bound Man

Three homeless people have been arrested in connection with the death of a 48-year-old man found in his Harlem apartment, tied up with a bag over his head last month.

Charles Romo was discovered on Jan. 28 in the bedroom of his Hamilton Heights apartment with more than a dozen wounds to his head and marks on his arms.

The medical examiner's office determined Romo died from blunt force trauma.

On Saturday, police announced they had arrested two men and one woman in connection with Romo's death.

The two men, 50 and 52, are both facing murder and robbery charges. The woman, 38, has been charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

Police say the three did not know Romo. The woman is accused of using Romo's credit card.

Investigators say that surveillance video from the morning Romo was killed showed the two men leaving the building with a plastic bag. They're seen earlier entering the building without the bag.
