23 Arrested in L.I. Heroin Ring: Prosecutor

A prosecutor has announced the arrest of 23 suspects in a heroin distribution ring that operated on Long Island and in parts of New York City.

Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota says three of the suspects were charged with felonies accusing them of being major drug traffickers.

Spota says a 16-month investigation found that the heroin ring supplied about 15,000 bags a week to Suffolk drug users.

He says 5,000 bags of heroin and 200 grams of raw heroin were seized from a so-called ``stash house'' in Queens.
