2 Stabbed in Bronx, 1 With Machete: Police

Authorities are searching for an assailant who stabbed a man with a machete early Saturday in the Bronx, less than two miles from a separate stabbing that killed a man, police said.

The dispute with a machete took place in the Soundview section of the Bronx, police said. Authorities are searching for an attacker in his early 20s who was wearing a Yankees cap, according to the NYPD.

The stabbed man underwent surgery at Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to survive his injuries, police said.

At around the same time as the machete attack, police were called to the scene of a separate stabbing on Fox Street, in the Mott Haven section of the borough. In that attack, 46-year-old Rigino Montero was fatally stabbed in the torso, police said.
