2 Killed, 4 Hurt in Horrific S.I. Crash

Cause of crash remains unclear at this time

Two men were killed and four injured when the car they were in crashed into a pole on a Staten Island road.

Police said the blue Nissan Altima car was southbound on Arthur Kill Road around 1 a.m. Sunday when it hit the pole and was severely damaged.

Daniel Peluso, 19, and 20-year-old Jeff Capretta, both of Staten Island, died -- one at the scene and  one after being taken to the hospital. Police said the remaining four were hospitalized in stable condition.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the crash, but the New York Post reports investigators suspect alcohol was involved. The investigation is ongoing.
