2 Brothers Killed in NJ Street Shooting: Prosecutors

A street shooting in New Jersey's largest city has left two brothers dead.

Jose Castillo-Granados, 25, and Francisco Castillo-Granados, 22, were both shot early Sunday in the Ironbound section of Newark, Essex County prosecutors said. The two city residents were taken to a hospital, but each was pronounced dead there a short time later.

Prosecutors say the shooting stemmed from a dispute that appeared to be an isolated incident. They say the brothers appeared to know their assailant but declined further comment, citing the ongoing investigation.

No arrests have been made.

Authorities say 44 people have been killed in Newark this year.
