16-Year-Old Shot and Killed on Brooklyn Street: NYPD

Police surrounded the East Flatbush street where the 16-year-old boy was shot to death Saturday.

A 16-year-old boy died after being shot in the head on a Brooklyn street in broad daylight Saturday afternoon, police said.

Officers found the wounded and unconscious boy outside a building on East 53rd Street in East Flatbush shortly before 1 p.m.

The teen, who has been identified as Michael Moore, was pronounced dead after being taken to Kings County Hospital.

Police have not identified any suspects but say they're looking into whether an argument led to the shooting. Investigators say the shooter quickly ran away.

Neighbors said they were dismayed about the display of violence, and that it involved such a young victim.

"I think it's sad, something's got to be done with these boys," said Marylee Bell, a longtime resident. "We've got to find some way to reach them and let them know there is a better way."
