$15K in Heroin Found During Traffic Stop

State police say they found $15,000 in heroin in a car they stopped for traffic violations.

The police report says 34-year-old John Robles of Middletown was a passenger in a 1997 Nissan when it was pulled over Thursday on the state Thruway in Rockland County.

It says Robles had 600 "decks" of heroin, worth $15,000 on the street, and a bludgeon-type weapon.

Police charged him with drug and weapon possession.

The police said Robles was to be arraigned later Thursday in Clarkstown Town Court. Police did not know who was representing him and the court said it did not yet have his paperwork.

There was no telephone listing for Robles in Middletown.
