Twelve protesters who participated in a New York City march in support of Occupy protesters in Oakland, Calif., have been arrested.

About 300 people marched through Lower Manhattan Sunday night.

The demonstration began around 7 p.m. in Washington Square before heading north and eventually ending up in Tompkins Square Park.

According to The New York Times, at least twice someone in the crowd threw a bottle apparently aimed at police.

Police charged three people with assault and one with criminal weapons possession. The rest were charged with disorderly conduct.

In Oakland, about 400 demonstrators were arrested Saturday after clashing repeatedly with police.
