1 Dead in Brooklyn Scaffold Collapse

The cause is not yet clear

A construction worker was killed this evening after a scaffold collapsed on the outside of a building in Park Slope.

The collapse occurred at 12th Street and Seventh Avenue, fire officials said.

Workers were on the 5th floor doing renovations when the scaffolding gave way, officials said. Two workers dangled by their harnesses and were able to get back in the building.  It is unclear if the worker who died was wearing a harness.

It's not yet known what caused the collapse.
