Police say one person was killed and another critically injured in a Long Island car crash Friday evening.

A man driving south on Pidgeon Hill Road in South Huntington crossed into the northbound lane and struck a minivan, according to officials.

The driver of the minivan and its four passengers, including three children, were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact 631-854-8252.
