Three of America’s most livable cities are located in the tri-state area, according to a new report by financial news site 24/7 Wall St.
The ranking is determined by nine factors: crime, demographics, economy, education, environment, health, housing, infrastructure and leisure.
To identify America's most livable cities, 24/7 Wall St. considered key factors that contribute to a city's desirability-- including a healthy economy, education, low crime rate and affordability.
Roughly 590 U.S. cities with populations of more than 65,000 in 2016 were considered.
These are the three tri-state cities that made the cut:

1. Danbury, Connecticut (#34)

The median income in Danbury is about $13,000 higher than the nationwide average, according to 24/7 Wall St. However, Danbury is one of the priciest cities in the U.S., with goods and services costing about 30 percent more than average, according to the site. Despite the high cost of living, 24/7 Wall st. says Danbury is the most desirable city in Connecticut for its cultural amenities, including restaurants, sports teams, theater companies, recreation centers, golf courses and nature parks.

Poverty rate: 8.9% (bottom 25 percent)
Bachelor’s degree or higher: 31.3 percent
2. Clifton, New Jersey (#40)
High incomes help balance the cost of living in Clifton, according to 24/7 Wall St. The typical household earns $77,923 a year — about $20,300 more than the national average. Residents have easy access to the cultural amenities of New York and nearby airports with public transportation.

Median home value: $345,100 (top 25 percent)
Poverty rate: 8.6% (bottom 25 percent)
Bachelor’s degree or higher: 34.1 percent
3. New Rochelle, New York (#50)
The only city in New York to make the cut is New Rochelle, which is a commute away from Manhattan with access to plenty of public transportation. The median household income is $75,757 a year, far more than the national average of $57,617, according to 24/7 Wall St. Residents are able to take advantage of the economic opportunities that come with close proximity to the city while enjoying the suburban quality of life.
