The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for much of New Jersey, and the alert could be extended to each of the five New York boroughs at some point Wednesday.

Rain is expected to be heavy in some areas Wednesday afternoon. As much as 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall between the afternoon and evening hours.

The rain could turn into snow showers or flurries overnight, but nothing significant is expected on that front.

But as temperatures drop around the city, be mindful of black ice and slick driving conditions.

A high tide is expected on Long Island Sound tonight, which could cause some flooding concerns.

And be sure to click here to find out if your school or business is open on Wednesday.

Things will dry out Thursday, but temperatures will remain in the 30s and gusty winds could make things feel even colder.
