Almost seven years after a fire damaged two rare tapestries and destroyed a gift shop, the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine is fully open.

The cathedral, which can seat 6,000 people and sits on 13 acres, celebrated with a rededication ceremony on Sunday.

The fire in December 2001 also brought about heavy smoke and water damage. The thousands of pipes in the church organ had to each be cleaned.
