Rachael Ray Juicing Up Lunch Menu at City Schools

Celeb chef hopes to launch program Monday

Lunch is about to get a whole lot more delicious – and healthier -- for New York City public school students.

TV food star Rachael Ray will be delivering lunch recipes to city schools, beginning next week, according to a published report.

Up to 600,000 children will get to eat super fast and simple meals like scrumptious soft tacos and Southwest roasted chicken with the chef's own Southwest Yum-o! ranch sauce, reports The New York Post.

The city schools' meal program is already among the nation's healthiest, but officials hope the celebrity chef menu will show students that delicious and "good for you" can go in tandem. Ray, who intends to launch the program Monday at PS 89/IS 289 in Manhattan, hopes to give new recipes to the schools every one or two months, reports the Post.

Want to cook Rachel Ray-style at home? She's going to post the recipes, modified to serve four instead of a school full of kids, on her Web site, reports the Post.
