Forget a "Long Goodbye," he was "Born to Run."
Bruce Springsteen is celebrating his 60th birthday Wednesday, and his fellow Garden Staters overwhelmingly believe he needs to keep on rockin'.
Eighty-six percent of New Jersey adults surveyed say Springsteens glory days have not passed him by, according to a Monmouth University/Gannett New Jersey poll.
Only 4 percent of those questioned say the native son is probably getting too old to rock and just 3 percent say he is definitely too old.
Springsteen also ranks with Elvis Presley in the survey. "The Boss" ties with "The King" for the Garden States all-time favorite rocker.
The survey shows Springsteen's broadest appeal is to middle-age residents.
And in honor of the Bruce's 60th, Jersey's Star-Ledger celebrates 60 totally boss moments.
