A New York City transit police officer is accused of helping a gang carry out drug-related robberies while in uniform, NBCNewYork.com has learned.

Jorge Arbaje-Diaz is charged with helping the gang conduct home invasion robberies while on duty, law enforcement officials said.

Diaz's picture was even included in a recent “wanted” poster after his face was captured by a building surveillance camera during one of the robberies.

Most of the robbery victims were drug dealers, officials said.

Diaz was assigned to a Transit District in the Bronx officials said.  Instead of doing his assigned patrols, officials said at times he would join fellow gang members to carry out the robberies.

Investigators said they recovered guns and drugs in Diaz's apartment.

At  his arraignment Friday, Diaz pleaded not guilty.
