Drug enforcement officials say they have busted up a violent drug distribution network and arrested six reputed gang members.

Authorities say the men were part of a group accused of selling drugs and guns in Irvington, East Orange and Newark.

Arrested Thursday were Chris McClean, 34, of Atlantic City; Amare Terrell, 35, of Orange; Eric Sims, 34, of Newark; Jaquel Moore, 23, of Irvington; and Shanta Brock, 24, of Pleasantville. Jason Franklin, 25, of Irvington, was arrested Wednesday.
DEA spokesman Douglas Collier says two other suspects still are being sought in connection with the ring.
Collier says five kilos of heroin, a quarter kilo of crack cocaine and five semiautomatic handguns were seized during the arrests.
