Chelsea Clinton To Wed Upstate — Sans Al and Tipper Gore

Village of Rhinebeck braces for wedding

Chelsea Clinton will be getting hitched in Rhinebeck, NY, but at least two old family friends won't be sharing in the ceremony.

Clinton and her investment banker fiancé Marc Mezvinsky  will wed in the Hudson Valley village of Rhinebeck, just two hours north of the city,  on July 31st.  There's only 400 names on the guest list,  according to New York Magazine.  And former Vice President Al Gore and his former wife Tipper won’t be among them, according to the Daily News.

"The Gores are not attending the wedding," family spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said in a statement to the Daily News Gatecrasher gossip column. "They both wish Chelsea well, believe she is a wonderful young woman, and they share in the family's excitement."

A Rhinebeck resident, who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity, said that Clinton and Mezvinsky would wed at a private mansion just outside the town. According to Gatecrasher,  the wedding will take place in Astor Courts, the building once belonged to John Jacob Astor 4th. The entire estate rests on 50 acres and according to the New York Times was designed by legendary architect Stanford White's great-grandson Sam White.

A local caterer will provide the food, and high school and college students have been hired to help get the grounds into shape.
Bryan Rafanelli, best known for being Hillary Clinton’s go-to guy for Boston-area fund-raisers, is doing the bulk of  the wedding planning. He was also responsible for Red Sox owner John Henry’s 2009 wedding.

A spokeswoman for the Clinton's declined to comment Thursday.
